The suspect went on to light up the firebomb and the Border policemen shot at the Palestinian's lower body to neutralize him. The suspect, aged 20, was hit in his leg and taken to a nearby Palestinian hospital in an army ambulance.
None of the Border policemen were injured in the incident, Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told AFP.
A source in the Palestinian security services confirmed the incident and circumstances to AFP.
"A Palestinian was wounded by an Israeli policeman after throwing Molotov cocktails at an Israeli patrol. Soldiers came out of the jeep and shot him," she said.
