Violence wave continues – An unknown assailant attacked a man and woman in their late teens in the center of Tel Aviv overnight Saturday. According to suspicion, the attacker threatened the two with a blunt object, assaulted the man, and demanded that they have sexual intercourse. Afterwards, he raped the woman himself and fled the scene.
Large police forces were called to the scene and launched a manhunt after the suspect. A special task force set up by Yarkon Subdistrict Police Commander Yoram Ohayon collected forensic evidence from the restrooms where the assault took place, and reviewed tapes recorded by security cameras in an effort to identify the suspect.

Meanwhile, the man and woman were transferred to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon where they received medical treatment. The two were released home later on Saturday.

According to initial investigation, the man and woman arrived at 3:30 am to a parking lot adjacent to the Tel Aviv municipality building, where their car was parked. The suspect ambushed the two and threatened them with a blunt object, forcing them into a nearby public bathroom, where he allegedly forced them to have sex, and then raped the woman himself.
Meanwhile, the State Prosecution filed an indictment Thursday against Mohammed Fadoul, a Sudanese refugee, for raping a high school student during a graduation party.
According to the indictment, during a private party, a drunk student showed up at Fadoul's room and lay beside him, at which point he took advantage of her condition and raped her.
