3 rockets hit Sderot; none injured

Relative calm is south breached as Gaza terrorists fire rockets at western Negev. Two factories hit; no injuries reported

Gaza terrorists fired three rockets at Israel Sunday. One rocket hit the southern city of Sderot, the second hit Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council and the third rocket landed in an open area. No injuries were reported.

Buildings in both locations suffered a direct hit and sustained some damage.

Both locations were identified as factories, which were empty at the time. The factory in the Sderot was hit by a Qassam salvo in the past.

The Color Red alert sounded across the area shortly before the rockets landed. According to local residents the sounds of three explosions were heard.

Security sources said that the fact the three rockets were fired with such relative precisions was rare.

The fire ended several weeks of calm in the area, but local residents said that the danger increases at the end of every summer vacation, ahead of the new school year.

Israel's new school year will begin Monday.

The last shelling of southern communities by Gaza terrorists took place in early August, as part of a combined terror attack on both the Egyptian border crossing in Rafah and the Kerem Shalom crossing.

The terrorists fired dozens of rockets at Israel's southern communities, while a cell killed 16 Egyptian border patrolmen.

The IAF intercepted the cell near Kerem Shalom.
