Police said Monday that the identity of a Palestinian
man suspected of raping a 60-year-old woman at her Tel Aviv
house some two months ago was known to authorities, but that his investigators lost track of his whereabouts after he fled to the territories
following the incident.
According to the investigation, the suspect broke into the victim's apartment and raped her while holding a knife against her throat. He then stole her purse and mobile phone and fled the scene.

Police traced the mobile phone, arresting two men who were in possession of it, but they were released after no evidence to their link to the incident was found.
Their accounts, coupled with the DNA results, taken from evidence in the victim's apartment, led to the apprehension of the suspect.
The victim's relatives told Ynet Monday that she was still struggling with the trauma.
