The 'Soup Nazi' portrayed by Larry Thomas

Beware: The 'Soup Nazi' is coming to Israel

Al Yeganeh, the inspiration for the intimidating soup stand owner in the famous 'Seinfeld' episode, will take part in a street food festival which will be held across the country in June.

Ali "Al" Yeganeh, who was the inspiration for the "Soup Nazi" character in one of the most famous episodes of the NBC television sitcom "Seinfeld," will visit Israel in June to participate in a street food festival, which will be held across the country.

"The Soup Nazi," the sixth episode in the seventh season of "Seinfeld," first aired in the United States on November 2, 1995. It focuses on the owner of a new soup stand (portrayed by Larry Thomas) referred to as the "Soup Nazi," due to his temperament and insistence on a strict manner of behavior while purchasing an order. Failure to adhere to his demands brings the stern admonition "No soup for you!"

Yeganeh's original restaurant, Soup Kitchen International, became hugely popular following the episode's success.

The food festival Yeganeh will participate in will be led by Pepsi Max and will be based on Israel's most popular street food, including falafel, shawarma and sabich.
