2 Israeli hikers missing in Bolivia
Two hikers fail to return from a trek northeast of La Paz. Israeli search and rescue operation in progress
Two Israeli hikers trekking in Bolivia have been declared missing after failing to return from a 20-day trek of the rivers northeast of La Paz.
The two and their local guides were due back five days ago, but have failed to contact their families or friends.

A search and rescue operation is in progress. The team includes 30 Israeli rescuers who are coordinating their efforts with the Israeli Embassy in La Paz and local search teams.
Harsh weather in the area is said to be making the search difficult.
Yisrael Shay, CEO of Sital International – the company heading the search – told Ynet Thursday that the area in which the hikers went missing has no outlines hiking trails and that "you could easily get lost there."
The Foreign Ministry confirmed that they are monitoring the case and lending the mission the assistance needed.
