Rose affair: Court remands Ronny Ron, Marie Renault

Murdered four-year-old's grandfather, mother brought remanded for additional five days as State Prosecution debates indictment counts. Police certain timeframe will suffice to solidify case

As four-year-old Rose Pizem's body was making its way to France for burial, the Ramla Magistrate's Court remanded the main suspect in her murder, her grandfather Ronny Ron , for an additional five days.

Rose went missing in May. Her body was found in Tel Aviv's Yarkon River last week after an extensive police canvas, which went on for several weeks. Her mother, Marie-Charlotte Renault and Ron were arrested for her murder.

Police are convinced they will be able to prove that Ron was behind his granddaughter's death.

Ron already confessed to killing Rose and dumping her body in the river, but added that he her death was an accident, which happened when he inadvertently struck her while driving.

Prior to the hearing Ron told his Attorney, Gil Friedman, that he was "glad they found her".

Ron and Renault have yet to be officially charged, as police and the State Prosecution are still debating what counts to include in Renault's indictment.

Despite Renault's claim that she had no prior knowledge of her daughter's murder, police are certain she was an accomplice to the crime.

Earlier this week Ron's previous attorney Revital Swaid, said she was stepping down in order to focus solely on representing Renault. She said her decision to resign was prompted by a development in the police investigation, and had nothing to do with claims that representing both suspects simultaneously constituted a conflict of interest.
