Lod Police chief
A 15-year-old girl from Lod was smuggled abroad to escape criminals who threatened her life after she agreed to testify against them in court, Ynet learned on Sunday.
The young girl received death threats and was assaulted twice, at which point her family, encouraged by police officials, decided to get her out of the country. She is set to return to Israel within a few weeks to testify against the men, who are facing drug trafficking charges.

Lod detectives first noticed the girl on Yom Kippur. They observed she was behaving oddly and decided to bring her in for questioning. Police officials soon exposed a drug ring selling to teens at a local neighborhood in the city.Some 50 people were probed and 11 suspects were arrested throughout the investigation. Indictments were filed against several of them.
Police officials also discovered someone was trying to harm the young girl, after she was attacked by one of the alleged suspects, as well as received threats by a relative of another suspect.
This dangerous situation lead the girl's parents, with the police's support, to smuggle her to family members living abroad for the time being.
The Police also warned the suspects and their families to keep away from her.
