Costner's ex, Christine Baumgartner, recently requested $248,000 a month in child support for the couple's three children. And court documents revealed that she estimates Costner's net worth to be at least $400 million, and his recorded income in 2022 was $19.5 million. The divorce filing details a lavish lifestyle that Baumgartner says cost the family just over $6.5 million in 2022. According to CelebrityNetWorth.com, their expenses included:
• $1,964,294.95 for their home in Aspen
• 1,178,147.16 for their beach house
• $830,504.51 for gifts
• $542,303.47 landscaping costs
• $288,381.24 Beach Club expenses
• $84,040.78 for household help
• $34,434.90 for golf club fees and other clubs
• $25,806.45 for boat expenses
• $21,807.67 for spa services
• $12,851.58 for a personal trainer
Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1, citing irreconcilable differences. In June, Costner accused her of refusing to vacate their marital residence in violation of their prenuptial agreement, and she responded by claiming that he had no legal standing to evict her. In her latest request, she claims that she needs $248,000 per month to make sure her children live at the standard to which they have become accustomed. The couple is asking for joint custody.
In response to his ex-wife's claims, Costner submitted additional documents, accusing her of "padding" her request for child support with her personal expenses, which include cosmetic surgery, luxury shopping, credit cards, ATM withdrawals, legal fees and more. TMZ reports that Baumgartner will challenge the validity of the couple's prenuptial agreement in court on July 5, while Costner's attorney will argue that the agreement is still binding.
