A senior Egyptian officials said the Hamas rocket attack on the Kerem Shalom border crossing on Sunday was the cause of the impasse in negotiations to free Israeli hostages held in Gaza in exchange for a cease-fire. "The Egyptian security delegation is increasing its efforts to contain the current escalation between the side," the official told an Egyptian television channel. "The crossing is open and aid is flowing into the Strip," he said.
