Russia again blasts Israel over recent Gaza flare-up

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova on Thursday again blasted Israel over the recent military operation in Gaza, accusing it of using "disproportionate force" during the flare-up with the Islamic Jihad.
According to her, "Moscow is deeply concerned about the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and calls on both sides to exercise maximum restraint."
At the beginning of the week, Zaharova issued a statement, saying the operation in Gaza was a result of "the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip that began on August 5."
