Burns arrives after visits to Doha and Cairo, where he tried to advance the contacts for a hostage release deal. In Israel, people are angry and disappointed with his conduct in the negotiations, and suspect that Burns knew ahead of time about the Hamas proposal, and pushed for its presentation to prevent an explosion in the negotiations.
