Border Police officer dies of injuries from weekend West Bank raid

Border Police Chief Inspector Yitav Lev Halevi, 28, a commander in the elite Yamam counter-terrorism unit, died on Wednesday from injuries sustained in a firefight during a weekend raid in the West Bank. He was wounded during an operation in the West Bank town of Dayr al-Ghusun, near Tulkarem, on May 4. He is the son of former Jerusalem District chief Deputy Commissioner (ret.) Yoram Halevi.
