Head of public health says mandatory vaccines 'unnecessary'

Head of Public Health at the Health Ministry, Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis, said Wednesday she does not believe mandatory COVID vaccination is necessary, despite the spread of the Omicron COVID variant and the consequent potential of another outbreak.
"I don't think we should go to places like these, but I guess things are still up for consideration," said the health official. "I do not think we are in a state of emergency . We are in a worrying situation, but we are taking all the necessary actions."
