European Union Minister for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell said that the new Israeli government's plan to annex West Bank territories will constitute a breach of international law.
"The EU's position on the territories status has not changed. In accordance with international law and UN Security Council resolutions, the Union does not recognize Israeli sovereignty over West Bank territories," said Borrell. "The EU reiterates that any annexation is a serious violation of international law. The EU will continue to closely monitor the situation and its wider implications and act accordingly."
