China lost the tender to run a desalination plant in Palmachim in central Israel, Ynet learned on Tuesday.
The news comes two weeks after U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reportedly voiced his concerns to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about China’s potential involvement in Israel’s biggest desalination plant.
Although the decision eases tension with the U.S. it could potentially lead to a confrontation with the Chinese government.
