Gallant talking to troops: 'conscription should come from all segments of the public'

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant visited the Yahalom Combat Engineering Corps unit, and in a conversation with the soldiers, he addressed the conscription law, which he was the only coalition member to oppose: "People are what drive us; conscription should come from all segments of the public." According to him, "We need everyone to protect ourselves. We will bring in everyone possible from all segments of the public, enlist them, and give them an equal opportunity. For me, it doesn't matter where you came from, what your parents did, or which part of the country you live in—you have the ability to reach any unit."
