Israeli professor Gal Luft, who was arrested in Cyprus in February at the request of the United States on suspicion of arms trafficking, claims in a newly released video that he is the victim of an attempt to cover up a corruption scandal linking U.S. President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, to the Chinese government.

Luft asserts that he possessed crucial information regarding alleged payments made to the Biden family by individuals with suspected connections to Chinese military intelligence. Additionally, He alleges that there was an FBI informant who clandestinely shared classified information with the Bidens' associates linked to the China-controlled energy company CEFC.
The professor also claimed that he presented incriminating evidence to six FBI investigators and officials from the Department of Justice in a secret meeting in Brussels in March 2019 during the Trump administration.
"I, who volunteered to inform the U.S. government about a potential security breach and about compromising information about a man vying to be the next president, am now being hunted by the very same people who I informed – and may have to live on the run for the rest of my life," Luft said in the video.
"I’m not a Republican. I’m not a Democrat. I have no political motive or agenda ... I did it out of deep concern that if the Bidens were to come to power, the country would be facing the same traumatic Russia collusion scandal – only this time with China. Sadly, because of the DOJ’s cover-up, this is exactly what happened," he also said.

Luft, the chairman of the Institute for Global and Regional Security Studies in Washington, was arrested in Cyprus after being accused in the United States of involvement in the sale of Chinese weaponry to Kenya, Libya and the United Arab Emirates, violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and for providing false statements. He was apprehended at Larnaca Airport on February 16 based on an Interpol arrest warrant issued at the request of the United States.
Eight days after his arrest, a court in Larnaca ordered Luft's release on bail of 400,000 euros, requiring him to surrender his passport and appear at the police station in Paphos every week. However, Luft did not show up at the police station and also failed to attend court hearings.
Luft also revealed that CEFC was allegedly making monthly payments of $100,000 to Hunter Biden and $65,000 to his uncle, Jim Biden. The purpose of these payments, Luft claims, was to leverage their FBI connections and exploit the Biden name for promoting China's Belt and Road Initiative globally.
The House Oversight chairman, Republican James Comer, who was preparing to interview Luft before he disappeared, says the Israeli remains a “potential witness” in the Biden family probe, despite his fugitive status.
