Sweet dreams: the most delicious desserts in Israel

Who doesn't occasionally need an indulgent dessert with lots of sugar? Israeli restaurants also understood the intense human craving for sweets, and they invest in particularly delicious desserts; Who serves a dessert named after a popular telenovela? And what's exactly 'God's cream puff'?
Liad Verber|
If you're looking for an Israeli consensus, it's probably the love for sweets. Whether it's the sweet flavor of chocolate, fruit, or pastry, almost all of us love the delightful mouthfeel that comes with a successful dessert.

Bakery – Cream puff / Profiterole
Inside the display case of the Delicatessen, one can find the bakery's addictive and mythological dessert (which is also served as a dessert in the "Hotel Montefiore" restaurant). This is a small cream puff that apparently looks like all the puffs, only here it is caramelized with a layer of crunchy sugar and filled with delicious cream.

Amita Pastry house TLV – Palmiers (Elephant ears)
A cookie with an interesting twist. Pastry chefs Michal Bouton and Anna Shapiro decided to bake it from crispy croissant dough instead of puff pastry (pâte feuilletée). The result: crispness. The croissant dough together with the sugar gives the cookie its exceptional texture, and it replaces the crumbly texture that characterizes puff pastry. Pierre Hermé, the famous pastry chef and author of renowned cookbooks who visited the place recently, was also enthusiastic about this dessert.

Here, too, we chose something a little different: the sweet shop of pastry chef Moran Gil is full of divided and colorful cakes, but we were attracted by a completely different pastry - the Cinnabon (cinnamon roll). Eran Shvartzbard - Spanish Mille-feuilles
Cremeschnitte is made of several layers of baked puff pastry (mille-feuilles) with filling. The idea for this pastry was born when Shvartzbard spent time at the famous "Hofmann" patisserie in Barcelona, where he tasted the pastry and fell in love. After that, he decided that he had to sell this delight here in Israel as well. The ingredients of the mille-feuille are caramelized puff pastry sheets, refined vanilla cream, roasted pecan praline, apricot jam perfumed with thyme and lemon.

Café Kadosh - the Bride from Istanbul
A dessert based on crispy dough with almond sablé (a kind of French biscuit) filled with crème pâtissier, and in the center caramel and chestnuts mousse with a caramel coated puff. The dessert was born while the couple, pastry chefs Keren and Itzik Kadosh, were watching the Turkish telenovela "The Bride from Istanbul". That evening Keren prepared the chestnut dessert, and the next day, when the waitress at the Café asked for its name, Keren answered: "Meet the 'Bride from Istanbul'." Since then, the name of this dessert has been fixed, and it became the signature dessert of Café Kadosh.
