  • Hadid, whose father is a Nazareth-born Jordanian-American millionaire, posted on Instagram that she plans to donate her earnings from the Fall 2022 runway shows to help those suffering from the war in Ukraine "as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine".
"May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war - not leaders," she told her 72 million followers.
She concluded the post by writing in all caps: "HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE".
While comments under the post on the model's page poured praise on the 26-year-old, once it was reposted by Vogue magazine's official Instagram, the comment section became flooded with social media users expressing their shock at the comparison.

"The same in Palestine - Ukraine doesn’t threaten to erase Russia off the map and then shoots 4500 rockets at it. Hey vogue why don’t you ask Gigi how many of the Palestinian leaders condemned Russia and how many showed support," wrote one commenter.
Others warned of the dangers that come with demonization of Israel, which leads to rise in antisemitic attacks worldwide.
"This post is very dangerous for Jews all over the world. Comparing Ukraine to Palestine is not only wrong on so many levels, it perpetuates antisemitism globally. Any time celebrities like @gigihadid and mainstream media like @voguemagazine paint Israel as oppressive, there are consequences for Jews around the world. The statistics do not lie. Anti-Israel messaging leads directly to antisemitic attacks globally. Please think about what you’re saying here, @voguemagazine!!!!!!!"
Gigi Hadid and her younger sister, Bella, have been waging a social media campaign against Israel, accusing it of ethnic cleansing and genocide, and calling Israelis "a group of settlers who are colonizing Palestine".
Bella Hadid has also been heard shouting "from the river to the sea," at pro-Palestinian rallies, a common call-to-arms for terror groups wishing to destroy Israel.
