IDF renews targeted killings: An IAF aircraft attacked Monday afternoon a vehicle carrying Islamic Jihad terrorists that were apparently on their way to launch Qassam rockets from Gaza toward Israel.
Four terrorists were wounded in the strike, one of them critically.
Palestinian witnesses said the attack was carried out east of Khan Younis in south Gaza.
According to the witnesses, at least one missile was fired toward a white Peugeot. The previous attack by the Air Force in Gaza was carried out 10 days ago.
A short while after the attack the “Red Dawn” alert system identified the launching of a Qassam toward the western Negev, but its landing site has not been located as of yet; no injuries or damage were reported.
Botched attack
Abu Hamza, spokesman of the Islamic Jihad's military wing, said that his organization would respond with force to the killing of one of the organization's members by the IDF. Simultaneously, hospital officials said that the man was critically injured.
According to Abu Hamza, the assassination would not lead to a halt in the fire and resistance by his people, and that the "Zionist enemy" should expect more fire and responses by the organization and other resistance organizations.
Five days ago the Air Force attacked a terror training facility in south Gaza, but those targeted apparently escaped unharmed.
The attack came just one day after seven Palestinians, among them Islamic Jihad and al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members, were killed by IDF troops in two separate operations in the Jenin area.
One of those killed was a senior Islamic Jihad member responsible for a series of terror attacks in Israel, including the recent bombing at Tel Aviv’s Central Bus Station.
