Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Qatar in order to cheer on his country's national team in the Asia Games, and used the opportunity to meet Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh face-to-face Friday night. Haniyeh embarked on a trip around the Middle East.

Ahmadinejad used the meeting between the two leaders to express his support for the Palestinian people's struggle and to give his prediction for the continued existence of the State of Israel. He emphasized the need for Muslims throughout the world to give their full support to the Palestinian people against the aggression of the occupying regime.

The Iranian president doesn't see a chance for peace on the horizon.

"This regime was established in order to force the policy of the United States and Britain on the states in the region. It can't even help the establishment of peace and security. Today, even other Western politicians are expressing their doubts on the need for the continued existence of the illegitimate regime and are suspicious of its existential ideology," said Ahmadinejad during his meeting with Haniyeh.

He called all Muslims to stand by the Palestinians and to encourage their struggle. According to him, "The continual crimes of the Zionists will hasten the fall of this counterfeit regime."

Haniyeh thanked the Iranian regime for its support, and said, "The intifada will continue until Palestinian rights are realized and holy Jerusalem is liberated." This is Haniyeh's first time leaving the Gaza Strip since he was elected prime minister.
