Democratic Union MK Stav Shaffir called on Sunday for the left parties to unite in order to ensure their survival and prevent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from mustering the majority needed to form a government.
"Further elections are not yet certain, but in such a case, the left must unite," Shaffir wrote in a tweet. "This to ensure our survival, to ensure Netanyahu will not have the 61 MKs needed to form a government - just because the left didn't unite and lost votes, for ideology. But first and foremost? For the future. Democratic Union and Labor."
