Supreme Court refuses to weigh removal of PM from office

The Supreme court refused to hear petitions by the Movement for Quality Government in Israel, asking the court to demand Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resign his position in light of criminal charges brought against him.
The petitioners were made to pay court costs of NIS 3000.
Justice Yosef Elron explained the ruling saying not all avenues regarding the matter have been exhausted and "In light of new elections set to take place in the near future, with an unknown outcome, the need for the court to take up the matter is superfluous."
