The Jerusalem District Court ordered on Tuesday a temporary injunction preventing Noble Energy from conducting at The Leviathan gas rig "activity involving gas emissions".
The decision states that the permit issued to Noble Energy from the Ministry of the Environment will be frozen.
"The decision is temporary and this petition will be heard on Sunday," According to Judge Eli Abarbanel.
The decision was made following a petition by six local councils located near the gas rig out of worry for the public health of its residents.
