European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Tuesday tried to pass a decision condemning Israel's intention to annex territories in the West Bank, which included threats against the Jewish state.
Borell's attempt to pass the decision had failed after it was blocked by the Czech Republic and Hungary. Such a decision requires a full consensus of all 27 EU member-states.
Borrell had to withdraw his request and published a statement on his own behalf, which carries much less political merit.
