The outbreak of coronavirus that began in China has infected more than 37,500 people globally, global health authorities in Beijing said Sunday.
On the Chinese mainland, 811 people have died and another 37,198 were confirmed as infected; in Hong Kong there were 25 cases, including one death and in Macao there were 10 cases.
Most of the deaths have been in central Hubei province, where illnesses from the new type of coronavirus were first detected in December.
