UN envoy to Mideast warns of war between Israel, Hamas

UN envoy to the Middle East Nikolay Mladenov called on Monday for a ceasefire between Israel and the Gaza Strip's militant factions.
"I call for an immediate cessation of rocket fire that only jeopardizes Gaza with another devastating round [of violence] when there is no end in sight," said Mladenov.
Maldanov said he would update UN Security Council on developments in Gaza Monday night.
