The train workers' union on Monday addressed a letter to Israel Railways CEO Michael Maixner and Transport Minister Bezalel Smotrich requesting the immediate closure of Ben Gurion Airport's train station due to concerns regarding the spread of coronavirus by returning nationals.
"In light of the fact that there is no enforcement at Ben Gurion Airport, the results of which was saw on Sunday when it was revealed that a confirmed patient made his way home to enter quarantine via train to Acre from the station, risking the lives of both workers and passengers, we demand the immediate closure of the station," the letter said.
