Blue & White Chairman Benny Gantz issued a statement condemning police for blocking the motor convoy of Israelis protesting the Likud’s shuttering of the Knesset
Gantz acknowledged that it might have better to have held the protest virtually in order to avoid creating crowds, but added that “the detaining of drivers is [an] unreasonable [act] for a proper democratic regime.”
“We must not sit quietly in the face of the crushing of our democracy that Netanyahu and [Knesset Speaker Yuli] Edelstein are leading.”
