Israel is planning to drastically cut its already reduced public transport services as part of efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus, Ynet has learned.
Sources in the transportation industry say the changes, which take effect on Monday, will mean a 70% reduction in public transport.
The Transportation Ministry has asked public transport operators to devise a plan to reduce suburban lines to twice an hour and three times an hour in large cities. Popular intercity bus lines will also operate twice an hour.
