Over half a million people register for unemployment since start of health crisis

The Israeli Employment Service said as of Monday morning there are 572,660 newly-unemployed people in Israel since the start of March. The number brings Israel’s unemployment to 17.6%.
The vast majority of the newly-registered are on an unpaid leave due to the current economic shutdown meant to fight the spread of coronavirus.
