The Health Ministry discussed on Monday the possibility of requiring anyone leaving their home to wear a protective face mask to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
Due to dearth in supplies of protective masks, the ministry is expected to recommend civilians cover their nose and mouth using makeshift masks made of cloth.
So far, the ministry's policy determined using masks yielded no benefit, but Asian countries with relatively low fatality rates attributed a great share of their success in preventing further infections to the masks.
