IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi tells bereaved families during the annual Memorial Day service in Jerusalem that they are not alone, even during a time of self-isolation.
“Dear families, despite the distance, the people of Israel are with you," he said. "Using all types of screens, each person in his house stops and remembers our fallen boys and girls."
He added: “Today, the flag is lowered in memory of the fallen, reminding us all of the immense pain you the family members feel. It is the pain of freedom, and the pain of independence for the State of Israel."
