High Court Judge Manny Mazuz rejected Justice Minister Amir Ohana's request to disqualify himself from hearing a petition requesting an extension for the appointment of a new deputy state prosecutor.
"My past as attorney general is no cause for disqualification from discussing matters pertaining to the Justice Ministry," said Mazuz.
"These kinds of proceedings are discussed by us routinely, every day. Disputes between legal advisers and legal ministers are also nothing new or unusual. They have accompanied the legal counsel for generations, at various levels, from the inception of the state to present days."
