According to Shin Bet data released on Tuesday, about 7% of all civilians (5,516 people) who received a message from the security agency about being in the vicinity of a coronavirus patient were ultimately diagnosed as having been infected with the virus themselves by April 29.
The government is set to approve a motion that would enshrine tracking of cellphones of confirmed virus carriers after the High Court of Justice ruled that such surveillance cannot continue otherwise.
