The Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday a significant breakthrough of world-wide implications made by researchers at the Israeli Institute for Biological Research in the production of a monoclonal antibody that can neutralize the coronavirus.
The institute is rushing to secure a patent for what they believe can be a cure for COVID-19 and is hoping to then begin working with pharmaceutical companies to produce a drug.
Scientists at the institute say this technological breakthrough could shorten the time to market and that a cure for coronavirus could be just months away.
