State Security Cabinet to convene after months-long hiatus

Itamar Eichner|
The State Security Cabinet will convene at 5pm Thursday in what is going to be its first meeting in months.
The Cabinet ministers were not updated on the reason for the meeting, but it may be related to criticism voiced by some ministers, namely Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich, regarding negotiations for a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas.
Another issue that may come up in the meeting is a recent series of assaults in Syria on Iranian targets that have been attributed to Israel by foreign media.
