El Al chief to workers: Unpaid leave extended to June 30

Itay Blumenthal|
El Al CEO Gonen Usishkin tells workers that the flag carrier is extending the period of unpaid leave for most of its staff to June 30.
Usishkin says that the coronavirus epidemic, which has brought most of the world's commercial air traffic to a halt, is one of the greatest challenges the company has had to face.
"We have been through wars, we have known difficult days and internal battles, but we never expected a situation in which passenger air travel would stop almost completely," he said.
