Extreme right activist on trial for racism to summon minister as defense witness

Extreme right activist Benzi Gopstein, on trial for inciting violence and racism, announced he would be calling Minister of Transportation Miri Regev as a witness for the defense.
Gopstein who was blocked from his bid to be elected to the Knesset heads an Israeli Jewish anti-assimilation organization has been publically vocal in his threats against Palestinians and in his call to oust migrant workers and asylum speakers from Israel.
Regev called African asylum seekers a "cancer" in 2012 while on tour in the southern neighborhoods of Tel Aviv where local residents called for the removal of African migrants and asylum seekers from the country.
