US Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo on Wednesday promised a State Department "investigation" into incidents targeting foreign journalists during protests against racism and police violence in the United States.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet last week denounced "unprecedented aggression" against journalists in the United States during the massive anger over the death of George Floyd, a black man asphyxiated by a white police officer.
She cited reports that at least 200 journalists were molested or arrested while covering the protests.
