Knesset passes Shin Bet virus tracking bill in first reading

Knesset overnight Thursday voted approved in a preliminary reading a bill allowing the tracking of confirmed coronavirus carriers by the Shin Bet security agency.
The bill, which passed by a majority of 44 in favor versus 32 against, authorizes the Shin Bet to "help the national effort to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus."
