Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Sunday backed the right to protest, but called for any violence to be "dealt with severely."
"Every citizen should protest in favor of their own principles, whatever they may be. It is one's civic duty," Gantz said, as demonstrations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continued across the country on Saturday.
