Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit says he will be reviewing whether a cash gift from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cousin to cover legal fees incurred by his wife Sara could be considered an improper gift.
State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman earlier this year turned down the prime minister's repeated requests to receive funds from benefactors in order to pay for the legal counsel in his criminal trial for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, saying it would violate the ban on public servants receiving gifts.
