The IDF Spokesperson said the military will remain on alert and prepared to react to any eventuality as long as is needed.
"We will not allow any assault on the security of Israel and its residents," he said.
The statement came after IDF troops clashed with armed militants attempting to cross the international border from Lebanon into northern Israel.
