Bill to prevent indicted MK from forming government fails in Knesset

A bill that would prevent a lawmaker under serious criminal indictment from forming a government fails to pass its preliminary Knesset vote.
The bill, presented by Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, was seen as targeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who is currently on trial for fraud, bribery and breach of trust. The bill failed by 73 votes to 53.
