Security establishment official sentenced to five years over corruption charges

A public official who worked in one of Israel's security establishments was convicted by the Tel Aviv District Court on Sunday, on bribery, fraud and breach of trust charges among other offenses. As part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to five years in prison and fined NIS 1.3 million. According to the indictment, he received benefits in exchange for promoting transactions between security bodies and a company that sells security equipment.
