Lawmakers on Wednesday voted in favor of an inquiry into the controversial purchase of German submarines that was at the heart of a corruption probe into government officials.
The vote was swiftly overturned by Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin of Likud, who ordered another vote on the grounds that coalition lawmakers had not been present.
Opposition MKs shouted "shame" following Levin's decision, and left the plenum in protest.
Officials ultimately decided not to bring charges in the affair, known as Case 3000.
