The terrorist organization Hamas is operating a secret intelligence and cyber unit in Istanbul which takes its orders from the Gaza Strip unbeknownst to Turkish authorities, Western intelligence sources told the British newspaper The Times on Friday.
According to the report, Hamas is carrying out cyberattacks and spying on its rivals from the Turkish financial hub. The Hamas base was established two years ago, separately from the organization's official offices in Turkey, which deal mainly with coordination and funding.
