The vote in the Knesset's Ministerial Committee for Legislation on the bill allowing increased fines for violations of coronavirus regulation, which was set to take place Monday evening, was postponed after pressure from ultra-Orthodox parties.
The Haredi officials claim the bill, if passed, will disproportionally affect the ultra-Orthodox sector where many educational institutions were reopened in defiance of the government orders.
